Letter #1

Hi mom!!

How are you? I'm sorry that I haven't written you until now. The MTC is a crazy busy place! We don't get time to our selves at all. The only day we really do is P-day but they're on Wednesdays and i got here on a wednesday and leave next wednesday. Time is a weird thing in the MTC. We wake up at 6:00 and don't get back to our residence hall until almost 10:00 at night so we pretty much have 17 hour days. I don't think i've ever been so mentally, physically, emotionally, and spirtitually exhausted in my whole life. The first couple of days were really hard for me. I was feeling so inadequete because i felt like everybody knew so much more than I did about the gospel but i've learned that it doesn't really matter how much you know the doctrine beacuse we are taught to teach by the spirit. I am in a tri- companionship which means i have 2 companions instead of 1. There is Sister Peterson who is from Pittsburg Pensylvania and is an art major at BYU. Then there is Sister Hancock who is from Ogdon utah who is a tiny, spunky, and quite loud but they are both sweet girls. I don't have much time left, i'm doing my laundry right now and there are like a million other missionaries that need to use the computer as well and our time on the computer is timed. But I want you to know how much I love and appreciate everything that you have done and do for me. I love getting letters from home! They help SOO much! I miss you like crazy mom and hope you are doing well.

My Testimony

I would just like to bear my testimony that I know Heavenly Father is there. Always. No matter what. He knows each of us personally and wants us to be happy. He loves us, and cares about what is going on in our lives. He hears our prayers and knows the intent of our hearts. I know without a doubt in my mind that this is the true church and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called by God and that through him the gospel was restored to its fullest. I know that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ and that it was brought forth in these last days to bring peace, comfort, and knowledge to all those who read and apply it. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today and that he was also called by God to help lead and guide us through these hard times. I know with all my heart that the Atonement is real and that if we truly repent and come unto Christ we will be forgiven and be perfected in him. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation and to know that families can be together forever. I would like to thank my family for being here today and for all that they do for me and the love and support that they show me. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful gospel and the knowledge and understanding I have of its eternal truth. I say these things, in the name of thy son Jesus Christ, Amen.
